The Boo is a unique arts centre at the theatre space of Horse + Bamboo Theatre in Waterfoot. We present a regular programme of arts events for the community of Rossendale and Pennine Lancashire; most of the programming is family-friendly.
The Boo is also a creative hub for visual theatre practice and puppetry in the north of England, using the resources of the building and Horse + Bamboo to provide mentoring, masterclasses and other support and facilities for emerging artists and groups.
The building originally served as the towns Liberal Club, and has since been used as a ballroom, a roller-skating rink, a cinema, and a slipper store.
